Description
While visiting Madang Province in Papua New Guinea, I saw these beautiful wooden hand carved masks being sold everywhere. These masks are part of Papua new Guinea culture. They are used in the initiation ceremonies of boyhood to manhood. Some of them are used as representation of spirits. During their festivities these masks are also used as part of their dance costumes festooned with feathers, leaves and small ornaments.
